5 Pannone LLP members of staff will be taking part in day 6 of a 1,200-mile bike ride to raise awareness of ‘the breathtaking scandal of asbestos and the breathtaking damage it has caused.’ The bike ride's aim is to raise awareness that although asbestos is the cause of Britain's biggest workplace killer, there is NO dedicated UK Government funding for asbestos cancer research.

Daniel Halliwell, Costs Draftsman and Nick Harrison, Associate at Pannone LLP will begin their part of the ride with others including solicitors, victims and members of Asbestos Victim Support Groups at Liverpool Docks tomorrow morning.  They will cycle into Manchester where there will be a meeting at the Town Hall to highlight the plight of asbestos victims and in particular to call for a dedicated research funding centre for asbestos-related diseases.  After the meeting they will be joined by other riders including Garret Spring and Nadia Kerr, Partners and Natasha Ross Legal Executive at Pannone LLP and the group will ride on to HebdenBridge.

The entire bike ride, from Glasgow to Southampton, began on 20th June and will pass through Armley in Leeds and HebdenBridge, two parts of West Yorkshire affected by the deadly dust.  Three cyclists who support this cause are undertaking the entire 1,200 mile trip and you can read donate to this good cause by going to www.justgiving.com/breathtakingjourney .
