By Kim Harrison in Industrial Disease Claims on Tuesday, November 17, 2009
On 12th November 2009 I along with Patrick Walsh, Pauline Chandler and Alicia Rendell of Pannone LLP attended the Greater Manchester Asbestos Victims Support Group seminar which had the aim of discussing palliative care provision in Greater Manchester.
The seminar was attended by victims of asbestos related diseases and mesothelioma, their families, health care professionals and solicitors as well as charity fundraisers who have raised thousands of pounds for research into mesothelioma treatment.
It was an emotional afternoon with families talking of their personal experience of palliative care provision.
Speakers included Dr Helen Clayson, medical director of St Mary's Hospice, Dr Paul Cook, medical director of Dr Kershaw's Hospice, Lorraine Creech, Lead Mesothelioma nurse and Angela Daniel, Day therapy manager at St Ann's Hospice.
